4/15/2024 0 Comments A curvy creation.... I found this cool piece of wood on my beach walk so I made this delicate smaller mobile. Mobile with all pieces from a similar type of shell. The locals harvest these shells from the bay and break them to get at the meat inside. I don't know if they use it as fishing bait or to eat it themselves. I love these interesting pieces that I find on my beach walks. They almost look like a wooden flower. They are actually the tops of coconuts just when they are starting to develop. Sometimes they don't survive and then I find all these tops along the beach. I've learned to keep an eye open for them when I'm near coconut trees because they make a good addition to a mobile.

Today was no exception. First I was making sea glass cards, then yesterday I was working wind chimes, today it was mobiles and who knows what tomorrow will be. Maybe painting? We'll see.

Switching gears from sea glass cards to making wind chimes with wine bottles and treasures I picked up off the beach. I've cut my bottles - I'm getting really good at that. I've finally found the technique that works great for me. I think I've got about a 95% success rate in cutting my bottles. Now it's a matter of sorting through all the goodies I've picked up off the beach and decide which ones to use in the chimes. We're recycling plastic bottles. We pick the appropriate size to hold my mobiles and cut the tops off.
