Market season is upon us....

The busy season is quickly upon us. I look forward to starting my Friday market display on November 8th.

I have a few new items this year including sea glass bowls and mobiles from the beach treasures I pick up. Stop by and say hi!

A framed piece of my art....

Picture

I love it when someone buys a piece of my art, frames it up nicely and then sends me a picture.

Kokopelli window art....

I originally made this pattern when a customer requested a wine bottle chime with Kokopellis painted on it. Now I'm using the same pattern to create  a piece of faux stained glass window art.

I'm trying something new - on an acrylic sheet I've painted the abstract background with alcohol ink - not something I've ever used before. It sure is smelly.

Then I use my liquid leading to outline the design on the sheet. Once that dries I'm using my Pebeo vitrail paints to finish the piece. It will look great in the window as the paint is translucent and the light will shine through it.

This is on a clear sheet so everything white you see is actually clear.   8x10 size

A fisherman wall art....

A fun piece of wall art for the people who love fishing.
My fisherman doesn't seem to be getting any bites.

Made to fit 8x10 shadow box frame.

More trees please....

Here I go again. I don't feel like I have enough Christmas trees ready for the market so I'm getting set up to make 4 more. These are so popular that some times I get asked for them even when I'm not doing a display. It's going to be interesting to see if I sell out this year.

Another bowl, different shape....

Working on another bowl using a different shape this time. I'm also using up some of the gray pieces of glass and some of the chunky pieces that I don't have other uses for.

These bowls are great "trinket" bowls - maybe for your rings or the house keys or just those little things you want to keep handy. Or even just as a show piece!

Recycling wine bottles into art....

Recycling wine bottles into faux stained glass vases.

First it's a matter of drinking the wine LOL then I have to cut and sand the bottle. I'm getting so good at cutting bottles now.

Then I draw my design and put it inside the bottle. I outline it using Gallery Glass liquid leading. Once the leading is dry I paint it with translucent paint - my paint of choice is Pebeo Vitrail. It creates such a beautiful finish when dry. It's a translucent paint so you could even put a little sand in the bottom of the bottle, to make it level, then put an led candle inside it. It looks beautiful.

Making good use of all my glass....

Picture

Working on a sea glass bowl.

The wood plugs are in place for the building of this bowl. Once it's dried I will replace the plugs with marbles that I have picked up on the beach. This is the only use I've found, so far, for all the marbles I've been collecting.

Where flowers bloom....

I love coloring the back of the clear sea glass with my markers. It creates such a pop of color and gives a good use for clear glass that would normally not be very prominent.

I really like this quote. I've done it many times on greeting cards but today I decided to use some of my bigger pieces of glass to create it as wall art.

Made to fit 8x10 shadow box frame.

Who knew there was an artist lurking within? Certainly not me.

It started with my Mom giving me some paints that she wasn’t using but I never did anything with them because “I wasn’t artistic” - according to myself. We really need to learn to have a kinder inner voice because I have discovered that apparently I am artistic.

In early 2018 I was introduced to an artist on Instagram from Australia who makes the most beautiful art. I looked at it and was truly inspired. I thought how hard can it be to put dots on some rocks. I had never felt that I was artistic at all but this woman has changed me forever! So I began and since that time I have started following even more rock artists to inspire me.

In late 2019 my sister in law introduced me to another Instagram person who creates coloring books. Drawing is another thing I said I could never do but thanks to the inspiration I am receiving from this woman and through various social media sources I have discovered that I actually can draw.

So the lesson is....you never really know what you are capable of until you actually try it! Never say never, I can’t etc. to yourself. Obviously I have to change my words and thoughts from - "I'm not artistic" and "I can't draw" to.....
"Cool something new! Let's give it a try and see where it goes!" And now when people ask me what I do I say - I am an Artist!

I look forward to expanding my creativity. Thank you for your interest and support.
