Let me tell you the story of how this all began.
Sometimes all it takes is for someone (sister-in-law) to put a thought in my head and then I ponder it. It doesn't take me long to put a good idea to the test. On this page I show you how I take my drawings and turn them into faux stained glass art - either for window displays or on vases.
My sister-in-law @feel.the.heart.notes had commented about one of my drawings and how pretty it would look as stained glass. I just laughed and rolled my eyes at that, thinking yeah that's a whole lot of work. Then I told another friend about this conversation and she pointed at her ceiling where she has a light box with these floral decorations on it. She said see that, that's called liquid stained glass. You can buy that to use. Well that's all it took to get me started.
I repurpose old picture frames, old pieces of glass and cut wine bottles to create my glass art. First I draw the design and then I outline it with liquid lead on a piece of glass. Once it dries I apply the translucent paint with an eye dropper and/or a toothpick.
On some images I put an in progress picture along side the completed work as the liquid leading is an integral part of the creation process that isn't as distinctive once the piece is completed.
